Pre Divorce, Divorce Phase & Post Divorce Counselling

...by Relationship Coach For Couples & Divorcees

Some marriages end suddenly while others seem to fall apart over a long period of time. No matter what the cause, if your marriage fails, you are likely to feel a wide range of intense emotions such as: sadness, anger, hurt, fear and anxiety of an uncertain future, loneliness, confusion over the many decisions you must make, and a sense of failure at your lost plans and dreams.

A major component of divorce is the emotional stages one goes through. The ending of a marriage is like a death. You may feel in shock, feel like your world is crumbling, feel depressed or even experience intense grief. Even though these emotions are normal they can be overwhelming or even debilitating. Many people get stuck and believe they are alone and there is no help available. Acceptance is an important stage of divorce. This is when you are able to make your separation public and engage in healthy coping strategies. Relief is the final emotional stage you will go through.

This is the time for you to re-define your relationships and have the ability to be at peace with yourself and others, and move forward with your life.
